R.R. 255A (100 T) (S.C. 643. 19-2-20) G.{Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp} 2578 Contd. -3- EFCl/T31.7.20. "Keep the terminals clean, connections and vent plugs tight, and vent-plugs passages clear". "Keep all metal work covered with vaseline but do not put vaseline on insulated compound or copper [handwritten: cable] covering". "Keep metal articles away from the terminals and connections". "Keep the battery in a cool, dry place when not in use, and if for a long period, give the necessary freshening charges". We do not favour the inclusion of the sentence of washing the battery with clean water to remove acid and dry as quickly as possible, as it seems to us that in so doing, we are saying more than is necessary in the heavy type. This point is well covered under "Care of Battery" under "RUNNING INSTRUCTIONS" [handwritten correction: running conditions] in the lighter type. The other alterations called for in this note of Mr. Royce's end which do not call for comment, are being incorporated. In addition to this, the paragraph re "Charging in Garage from External Source" has been completely re-written, as it was suggested by Sales that the part of this relating to the matter of the potential which might exist on a chassis frame in certain circumstances, was too difficult for the ordinary individual to understand. We therefore attach a copy of the new version of this paragraph. EFC. | ||
