R.R. 58/10 M.{Mr Moon / Mr Moore} 29.1.13. 11,100 E.P. 1918. ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED. INSTRUCTIONS. 4-9-1913 19/3 To Mr Wormald for Mr Royce. Order No. Customer's No. 714 Herewith is a pencil drawing of a suggested new pivot for the 10 HP 2 cylinder cars. The old pivot S48/9 is shown in red ink for the purpose of comparison. The old pivot runs for a considerable number of years before breaking, & some have never broken yet, I therefore think that the shape & extra section of the suggested new pivot body should make it a safe job. During the past 3 years, 4 or 5 of the old pivots have broken at the point indicated on the drawing, but I do not know of a single case of fracture of the stub-axle. Signed APChandler.
