R.R. 493 (40 H) (SL 42 12-7-23). J.H., D.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary} EXPERIMENTAL REPORT. COPIES TO: RCJ BJ WOR.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} By E Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} PN.{Mr Northey} DY.{F R Danby} RG{Mr Rowledge} Expl. No. 42598 44418 REF. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}6/L.C4. 9:25. OBJECT OF TEST. Investigation of oil leaks from camshaft casings. TESTER. T.A. Gibson, A.{Mr Adams} Rubbra. CONDITIONS. Hangar test. SUMMARY OF TEST. On our Hangar test we can definitely reduce the oil leaks from the camshafts 95% by the modification described in the attached report. We believe the leaks complained of in the machines come from the same source. Arrangements are being made with the Air Ministry for these tests to be confirmed on the aeroplanes which are complained of for oil leakage! These tests were made with high pressure oil feeding the Camshafts. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
