An internal combustion engine
piston has inner surface of head
arched and formed with transverse
ribs or webs, a saw cut is made on
either side of the gudgeon pin bosses
circumferentially and from the ends of
each of these saw cuts two other
saw cuts extend down towards the bottom
of the skirt of the piston.

525,103. G.L.Pratt and Motor Method and
Power Inc. apparatus for
treating and
utilising exhaust
gases of inter-
nal combustion
engines.

The exhaust gases are centrifuged, the
heavier parts are discharged into the
atmosphere while the lighter hydrogen, carbon
monoxide and methane are returned for
use in the engine as a component of the
engine operating charge.

525,104 G.L.Pratt and Motor Centrifugal
Power Inc. gas separator.

This invention is for apparatus for carrying
out the scheme of 525,103. The exhaust
gases are introduced into a closed long
helical conduit having radially deep
convolutions. These convolutions are
formed around a central pipe which has
opening in its wall through which the
lighter elements are led back. The
heavier elements leave from the end of
the conduit. No complete separation
is claimed.

525,120 W.D.Marchant and Moto- Driving of the
Sacoche Soc.Anon. cam shafts of
internal com-
bustion engines.

To damp out torsional vibrations in a
gear driven camshaft the camshaft gear
