H.H. 2M. (500 T) (S.D. 408. 26-4-17.) Bm. 2/156/13. To JS{Mr Johnson's Secretary}/Jn. from EFC EFC1/T29.1.18. X.3180A - PETROL VENTURI METER FOR 12 CYLINDERS. X.3180B - " " " " 3/8" Will you kindly issue instructions for half a dozen of each of the above meters to be made in the Works. All of these should be instructed in bronze and we shall be glad if you will provide a hexagon at each end of each meter to facilitate the coupling up of the meters. Also it would be better for the sake of good joints if the connections are supplied with the meters so that all that is necessary is to solder the nipples to the pipes. In the case of X.3180A, it will be remembered that the meter suits 1/4" bore connections, and we would like these meters to have throat diameters of .225" instead of the alternative .250" and .220" as originally called for. In the case of X.3180B, the meter is to suit .375" connections and should have a bore of throat of .112". We shall be glad if you will get these put in hand at the earliest opportunity, as we have had satisfactory results with the one we have already tested and it is desired to make use of these meters on the engines and for setting carburetters respectively. Your instructions should state that these meters are now a production job, that is to say, not experimental. EFC. | ||
