200 b. BY.3/C.8.3.38. Da{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Bry Les 446 BENTLEY 111 - RE: FRONT SUSPENSION. In view of the investigation results outlined in Da{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}1/N.28.2.38. and Da{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/DB.{Donald Bastow - Suspensions}3/N.25.2.38. it is clear that the existing design is :- (a). Sufficiently close to the model car to vindicate the general design. (b). Wheel movements being 7.600 in modeland 7.250 in B.111, there can be no material loss of performance here. (c). The working clearance for the steering coupling ends must be achieved by reducing the lock by the comparatively small amount suggested. (d). If more ground clearance is proved to be desirable we will have to adopt the 17" rim but we continue with the 16" rim unless some further difficulty arises. BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} Bry | ||
