RECEIVED
Please receive three blue prints of "N" Sch: 843 shewing the modifications which Mr Royce suggests should be made to the Tyre Pump to make it easier to manufacture, and in some ways to improve the running. There are a few alterations as regards fits mentioned in E4/G31-3-21, which could be embodied at the same time.
We believe the modification to the valve plugs requiring a finer thread and recessed square top is something which has got down to Mr Royce by mistake, as the plug that we saw there with a very coarse thread, a hexagon, was probably some standard plug.
We have also taken the opportunity of modifying the control so that it is operated by a toggle in the front of the bonnet, and we send herewith three blue prints of "N" Sch: 847 shewing how we propose it should be modified, in what we think is a very simple way. Would you please put details in hand.
With reference to the report on the filter, the scheme which has been made has been seen by Mr Royce, and was, as a matter of fact, generally instructed by him, though we have no written approval of it, and we do not think that Mr Royce was sufficiently settled in his mind to say that it must be adhered to. We propose to make a further design, but in the meanwhile probably you could find out the possibilities of getting supplies from the Maxfield Company.
