With regard to radiator jellying. I first of all tried the car with tyre pressures at 40. lbs sq ins. This was a great improvement as was to be expected, over test with tyre pressures at 30.lbs. There was however still a slight jellying at the mascot.

The rubber washers were then removed from behind the bolt heads, replacing them with steel washers, (in semi-isolation) as was suggested. I am of the opinion that this does improve the car for jellying at the mascot, the whole front of the car now moves together.

I am not quite sure though yet, wether by tightening up on to the dash we dont loose some good movement on the body.

Will do a few more experiments over rough roads to see if I can prove anything of this. Also effect on body boom at engine period of 20.m.p.h.

Petrol-Consumption.

Taking an average over a months running, Feb. we used 675.Litres---or 143.6galls at 4.7 Litres per gall. for 1474miles.

Average m.p.g.-- 10.2 approx.

This of course includes everything.

Oil-Consumption.

Under our running conditions, very little high speed work,is approx- 4,000 m.p.g....................... J.C.Dodd. ........................
