BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} c. to BJ Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} Y/1140 DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}1/M10.9.27. PHANTOM BONNET CATCH. X.8260 X.1140 X.5280 Herewith we send N.sch.2464 shewing the modifications to the new bonnet catch to simplyfy it and cheapen it. We have also to some extent reduced the bulk. Would Derby please put this in hand with a view to getting a complete set on the bonnet of the next 10,000 mile car. It is understood that with this will go the improved lock we have already asked for. We believe it is understood that when these new bonnet catches are fitted no handles are required, as the catches themselves serve this purpose. We notice on the model 20 HP. car which is here that the polished strip along the bottom edge of the bonnet has been left off. We are not certain that we think this an improvement and should like to know the reason for it. DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} | ||
