As regards our letter to the Air Ministry on
Compression Ignition, Rg. {Mr Rowledge} has arrived back today and suggests that as Sg. {Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} will be here tomorrow we might hold this over until after then before we send it in.

We should like you to take up with Mr. Tweedie the question of the contract for running on Ethylene Glycol. It was evident from Mr. Wood yesterday that he was against us getting the contract from the D. {John DeLooze - Company Secretary} of R. {Sir Henry Royce} for this work. We should be glad if you could speak to Tweedie about this and see whether he will be prepared to give us a contract for work on the 6 cyl. I think we could send him in an attractive programme for the work on the 6 cyl. and the results on the 6 cyl. do represent as regards the cylinder identical conditions to the 12 cyl.

The point I am very anxious for you to do is to explain to Mr. Tweedie why we have not kept our promise which we made as regards sending in the letter both on the Compression Ignition and the Ethylene Glycol.

Hs. {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}
