GOSHAWK REAR AXLE.

We have suggested certain improvements to the central casting and cover of the back axle which will make it stronger.

It has now been suggested by the Works that the bevel gear shall be slightly coarser. This seems definitely better for strength, considering it is casehardened, and I understand it to be easier to make silent, and less costly.

Please therefore prove and standardise this modification as soon as possible. I would willingly take the responsibility of suggesting this should be standardised provisionally while the 10,000 mile trial is in hand.
