COPY. To BJ. from Py. Py6/DB{Donald Bastow - Suspensions}1/10/20. Re. Instruction Books for Post War Chassis. 1. In May 1920 we were still issuing to Owners of Post-war Chassis a revised Instruction Book of the July 1914 Edition. It was hoped (D/BP2/CW28520) that a pamphlet dealing with the Lighting & Starting Set would be ready "very shortly". 2. On 4th. June (D/BP/7/CW4620) the pamphlets "have not yet arrived from the printers but we may expect them any day". 3. On 23rd. June (Bs{A J. Barnes - Assistant Manager}2/DP23620) S. ask B.J. to authorise an order to be placed for a supply of a reprint of the combined Instruction books (This would not include the Electrical pamphlet). The last Edition was August 1913). 4. On 28th. June you instructed Sales to go ahead with the reprinting of 250 books in French and Spanish at the prices fixed - viz. 18/5d each. 5. On 1st. July Bs.{A J. Barnes - Assistant Manager} wrote W. (Bsl1/KW1.7.20.) ordering 250 books at 10/8d each. 6. On 16th and 20th. July W. wrote (D/Sn{Mr Sanderson}11/AW20.7.20.) asking for confirmation that they are to order 500 books at 10/8d. or 250 at 18/5d. 7. On 23rd. July C. writes asking whether we could use up 500. If so, it might be worth while printing 500. He then suggested the advisability of embodying in one book all our various Series. 8. On 7th. August W. writes "The Electrical Booklet is almost ready". The statement in paragraph 2. would therefore appear to be misleading. 9. On 16th. August W. writes " We expect supplies of the reprint about middle of next week". 10. On 31st. August BJ. wrote C. that it was desirable an Instruction Book should be printed immediately and a Supplement printed at the same time describing the Electrical Installation as delivered. Later a further Electrical Supplement could be issued. Also Spare Parts Book should be printed. 11. It is not clearly established by papers in the file whether the reprint of the French and Spanish translation has been put in hand at all. Py. | ||
