Valve spring failures. 76-GN. This car came in for a light decarb. and when dismantled eight valve springs were found broken. A Depot sheet has now been instructed for new springs to be fitted which should overcome this trouble. A complaint dealt with. The salesmen of Messrs. Pass and Joyce brought a new PhantomCodename for PHANTOM I II to Cricklewood and complained of the following :- Starter motor intermittently failing. Telegauge failure. Slack in radiator controls. Starter carburetter controls too slack and worked open. Leak of petrol from filler cap. The faults dealt with and found were Battery terminals found loose, starter motor not touched and was O.K. Telegauge, moisture in the pipe line blown out. O.K. Slack in radiator controls, found a ball joint loose. Starter carburetter controls, found ball joint loose.
