197-GN Sales.

This was the first complaint of its kind. EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} and myself took the matter up. We eventually located it to the spigot of the flywheel which was slightly taper and oval making the clearance too small for the sleeve of the clutch trunnion which seized up with the heat generated by the slipping of the clutch in traffic. We made this clearance .004" on the dia. which entirely cured this trouble. EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} took steps immediately to prevent any further cars being turned out with this condition. No further complaints have arisen.
