I am sending you herewith a coil which is marked This was taken off chassis 59-CE after the chassis had been through its tests, the coil not having been touched by us other than externally inspected as taken off the car. The following are points I wish to bring to your attention :- 1- The centre terminal appears to have been tightened up too much or has contracted, causing complete failure of the top terminal plate. (This complaint we have had on cars delivered. On the contrary we have had complaints of the centreterminal having been found loose, and bad connection made owing to corrosion or oxidising which has taken place at this connection. 2- The shelac has come adrift on the H.T. terminal connection, as referred to in our memo.EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}35/F7.1.21. 3- The wire connections to the terminal are poor. The contact surfaces for the wires and the terminals are badly finished off, and I would also draw your attention to the H.T. wire connection to the H.T. terminal. Coil sent in hands. EP.{G.
