Dear Mr. Johnson:

As you know, during the past year or more we have been engaged upon the production of the "left-hand" 40/50 car - and over one hundred cars are in the hands of the public and appear to be giving satisfaction.

We are now devoting all our time to the preparations for producing the "New PhantomCodename for PHANTOM I" design. The complete set of drawings is in hand, and we have advises that the tool drawings are under way.

We have to acknowledge the receipt of 12-MC, the "New PhantomCodename for PHANTOM I" chassis, which is now being fitted with a body to be ready for continuous running during the coming Fall and Winter.

Messrs. Nadin, Bagnall, and Hulley have returned - all are very enthusiastic indeed about the "New PhantomCodename for PHANTOM I" and about the help given them by Mr. Royce, and all at Derby, toward the early adoption of these changes in the Springfield Chassis.

Mr. Royce's advice to change to the new engine by making a complete reversal of the parts appears to make the way clear, to its use with left hand steering.

Since we have already revised the gear box and starter, the final product will be in effect a "mirror reflection" of the car as built at Derby.
