PHANTOM 11 - SPARE WHEEL CARRIERS AND LUGGAGE GRIDS.

With reference to Pt4/PH. 20.12.29. it would certainly appear that chassis sent to Australia should be fitted with a rear spare wheel carrier, and that we should supply parts to enable changes to be made at the coachbuilders out there to meet the specific requirements of customers.

In regard to your suggestion that each chassis is fitted with a dual spare wheel carrier, it should be borne in mind that the standard price of the chassis includes the single type carrier only, therefore we would suggest that all chassis are fitted with this type, and that the chassis are drilled and provided with necessary bolts to take luggage grids if required, in addition to which we should send :-

1/- All the necessary parts to enable them to convert to a double spare wheel carrier.

2/- Parts necessary to enable type 2 luggage grid to be fitted with the single spare wheel.

3/- Parts necessary to enable type 4 luggage grid to be fitted without spare wheels.

In regard to the suggestion that you should induce customers to adopt type 3 scheme, we should hardly think it advisable to press customers to carry luggage inside the car, but the main thing is to see that at least one spare wheel is carried at the rear.
