To: DRL/Wby BLM/Wrd c: JPB Tln Ms1 Sdt/CB Sdt/JKB 12.12.60 NAME PLAQUE We seem to have reached final agreement now about the proposed name plaque for use on Rolls-Royce engined commercial vehicles, locomotives and boats. 20 prints of the final design are attached to DRL/Wby's note, and 10 to BLM/Wrd's. These plaques will be of high quality, completely flat, and with fixing studs on the back so that there will be no rivets, as on some of those used by the Aero Division on Rolls-Royce powered aircraft. They are likely to cost about 11/- to 13/- each, although the cost may be considerably less than this if a fairly large initial quantity is required. The merit of this latest design is that, at a distance, it looks like a Rolls-Royce badge whereas the 'flowerpot' shaped one did not; also all the lettering is of the approved style. It has been designed by our stylist JPB, and I think you will agree that it is a much more attractive proposition than the previous one. If you want any more prints, please let me know. Sdt. JGB | ||
