EAC.10 EXHAUST PIPES.

We send you herewith a blueprint of LeC.2518 shewing the proposed exhaust pipes for EAC.10.

This is not quite like either types 1 or 2. given in your memo., but you may remember it as a later development proposed just before your departure from WW.

A possible trouble we may have to face with the type of exhaust manifold which is not stiff enough to push its flanges along the face of the cyl. head, is that the pipe may not be flexible enough to cope with the expansion.

It is true that we know of a number of cars fitted with pipes of this type, which appear to give satisfaction, but nevertheless we can increase the flexibility if desired, one such scheme being to carry the three pipes down parallel to each other, into a common flange, as shewn in the sketch.
