RE: CHASSIS 183-XJ - A.MUHLENKAMP ESQ., -------------------------------------- Referring to your PN{Mr Northey}1/CP3.9.31 we have again discussed this matter with the Experimental Department and they agree that nothing further can be added to the contents of our Hd{Mr Hayward/Mr Huddy}/3B7/KH.1.9.31. It is agreed that the springing on 25-EX is the best that can be offered. We do not think that the fact that no bumping on the front buffers has been experienced on 183-XJ is any detriment; in fact from what we know of Mr.Muhlenkamp he would be likely to complain if bumping did occur. Everything considered we are of the opinion that the best procedure will be to send a pair of low rating rear springs to 'N' together with a set of Hydraulic Shock Dampers as on 25-EX. We would not recommend fitting front Hartfords at the moment, but if they are found to be at all desirable after the new rear springs have been fitted they can be added - they are rather expensive and the necessity for them is not evident at this stage. As you say the whole thing will be more or less of an experimental nature. Hd.{Mr Hayward/Mr Huddy} SG{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} [STAMPED: RECEIVED 7 SEP 1931] | ||
