c/o (Hd{Mr Hayward/Mr Huddy}). to Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} to G.{Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp} to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} to Sr. to H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} X4117 PN.{Mr Northey}1/CP3.9.31. re. 183-WJ - A.{Mr Adams} Muhlenkamp. Hd{Mr Hayward/Mr Huddy}/SB{Mr Bull/Mr Bannister}7/KHL.9.31. Although I was unaware that this car was fitted with low rating springs in front, I am still of opinion that their unnecessary strength may contribute to the pitching, in view of the fact that they have never been known to bump. Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}'s car No. 58-GN, which also has low rating springs, frequently hits the front bumpers, I am informed. It has to be remembered that Mr. Muhlenkamp's car is driven very fast always, and that he frequently tours long distances on the Continent; this being the case, I cannot think that he would remain satisfied if low-rating springs were fitted at the rear as well, but would complain of heeling-over and difficulty when negotiating cambers; at present the car holds the road wonderfully well. Of course, to a degree any proposition must be of an experimental nature, and it may be the wisest plan in this difficult case to fit not only low-rating springs at the rear, but in addition the latest type of H.S. as on 25-EX at the rear, and Hartfords in front. Before we decide anything we should ask for further consideration of the matter from those at W. addressed. PN.{Mr Northey} RECEIVED 3 SEP 1931 | ||
