xroom HOTEL DE FRANCE CHATEAUROUX. Indre. France. 1st June 1935. To. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} From. G.W.H. 5. B. IV. We have dismantled the Gearbox and Clutch to fit the spring centre Clutch. We took the opportunity to examine the sprung back plate. The slots for the locating studs are indinted, and on one a piece has been broken out. The indents where the fidgeting has taken place are from .030 " to .015 " deep. corner broken off. The springs in the centre driving plate have got a lateral slackness, also the tabs do not hold them choc. It would have been better to have had new springs, as they were somewhat damaged when they fell into the revolving clutch. Re. TYRES. We sent you a report of the special 5.50 x 18 " Tyres. We reported that the Tyres were very good for preventing side skid. When coming out with the present standard, we could not hold the Car at the rear on the wet roads. In London the Car was all over the place upon the slightest aggravation. The fitting of the Special Tyres overcame this entirely. .................... | ||
