For the attention of Mr. Sisman.

Dear Sirs,

Halo 2.L.

With reference to the above material, which was sent to us in Bentley size when we ordered some Halo 3.L, an opportunity occured to try it in a car and as it seemed a pity not to do so since the discs had been made (in spite of the fact that we had been instructed to scrap it) we fitted it and it has now done 1,100 miles and seems very satisfactory. It has a high output, the value of µ appears to be 0.39 and the pedal pressure has been reduced considerably.

Our Repair Dept. complain that the output of the linings we now use falls off after some thousands of miles of light useage due to a glaze developing on the surface. We are going to send them a dozen pairs of rings G.56065 in Halo 2.L, to see if they like it. These discs you will notice have no splines.

We are at the moment just completing some rig tests (for squeaks) and assuming that these are satisfactory we will order two dozen rings.

If it continues to give good service and remains free from squeaks this lining is going to be most useful to us.

Yours faithfully,

for ROLLS-ROYCE LTD.
