819. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}7/WJ.6.11.33. To Eg. From Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} c. to C. c. to Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} c. to Ox. c. to Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} c. to Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} Re. Body Ventilation. We are very pleased to see that BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} has been able to arrange a reasonable royalty to enable us to use the Fisher ventilation scheme for bodies. As we have mentioned previously, we think that this ventilation adds more to comfort for passengers than anything which has been introduced for years. We shall be very interested to know when we expect to have a body fitted up with this scheme. In order to get something moving on body ventilation we took the two front flaps off the Terraplane and fitted them xxxx to the Streamlined 3 1/2 Litre Bentley. Even these flaps were a tremendous improvement over the normal scheme, but they are nothing like as good as the complete Fisher arrangement. We intend to keep pressing for the improved ventilation because we have had experience with it and know what it is worth. We think the ventilation arrangements on our cars are terrible.
