-7- Principal Quantities. No. of conductors .464 29 x 16 Armature resistance at 100oC. .482 w Field resistance at 100oC 3.26 w Cutting in point 13.6 volts. Field turns 120 Field amperes. 4.17 (at cut-in) Field A.T. 501 ( " " ) Flux produced by these A.T. = 170,000 Armature E.M.F. 15.61 Hot cutting in speed as shunt machine = N = (60 x 10^8 x b x E) / (Ø Z p) = (60 x 10^8 x 2 x 15.61) / (170,000 x 464 x 4) = 593 To find the speed at which the machine will give 8 amperes, at 14.6 volts, as a shunt machine hot, assuming no loss of flux due to armature field distortion, Field amperes = 14.6 / 3.26 = 4.48 Field A.T. = 538 This produces 175,000 (say) lines. (This allows slight loss of flux). Contd. | ||
