Length of wire in coil
= 120 x 9.6 ÷ 12
= 96 feet

Resistance at 0°C
= 96/1000 x 5.97 = .573 w

Resistance at 100°C of whole field
= .573 x 1.42 x 4
= 3.26 w

Field amperes
at hot cutting in point
as shunt machine = 13.6/3.26 = 4.17

Ampere-turns
=4.17 x 120
= 501

Volts lost in armature due to field current
= 4.17 x .482
= 2.01

this agreeing with assumed value.
