is a machined iron casting. One noticeable feature is the large ventilation holes in the casing. There are two holes .325 diameter, at the base of the casing is a large slot where the metal has been cut away to allow for the large circular condenser. This also allows extra ventilation, which we have found by previous experience is essential if corrosion of the metal parts of the distributor is to be avoided. A six lobe cam is used giving six breaks per revolution. A felt pad soaked in oil is so mounted as to press on the cam forming a means of lubrication. The load on the points was measured and was found to be 1lb 4 ozs on one lever and 1lb 2 ozs on the other. The contact gap when received was .020 which gave a make-ratio of .765 at 800 distributor RPM. On closing the gap to .010 the make-ratio increased to the extraordinary figure of .975.
