+7941 To RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls}3/KW.5.7.34. 28-EX. We should like you to dismantle the gearbox on this car as the synchromesh second is not operating satisfactorily. It requires 25 lbs. on the gear lever to engage second gear when everything is stationary. This is more than twice the calculated amount and we wish to find out where the friction is. At the same time, the second speed is not free from crashing and we should like to fit 50º cams if the slot in the outer member can be altered from 45 to 50, and we hope you can make new cams out of tool steel. We will decide how many plungers to fit in the second speed synchromesh when we have discovered the cause of the friction losses. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls} | ||
