X.4215 - BLERIOT PHI CUT-OUTS.

We have had considerable trouble with the seven Bleriot Phi cut-outs recently obtained for us for experimental purposes.

We again summarize the position for your convenience as follows :-

We had submitted to us in December the first sample cut-out which worked very well and gave no trouble. This cut-out was sent to Mr. Royce for his inspection and he is now using this on his house lighting electrical system.

We then asked for and received a second cut-out which also operated quite well, but was a little later in cutting in point than the previous one and than our specification. This cut-out is now fitted to the car 6 EX which is going to Mr. Royce in a day or two, and is operating quite well.

We then received six further cut-outs upon which wereported to you in our EFC {E. Fowler Clarke - Electrical Engineer} 6/T18.2.21 that these were different from the original sample and also the operation was not within our specification, copy of which was sent to Messrs. Bleriot. We said at the time we would let you have further information before taking up the matter finally with the makers. In the meanwhile you obtained for us a further cut-out which was really obtained for 6 EX car, but owing to this not being satisfactory, we had to
