remove the second cut-out which was at that time fitted to 2 EX and put this on 6 EX in spite of its lateness in operation.
We have now to report that all the seven most recently received cut-outs are unsatisfactory and we wish to return five of these so that the makers themselves can rectify them.
Four of those to be returned are still unsealed; two of these four cut-outs cut-in earlier than our specification and one of the four cuts in too late. Three out of the four tremble like an electric bell at the time of cutting in - this is incorrect operation.
In order to investigate the reason for this defective operation, we have unsealed two of these cut-outs (one was delivered unsealed) and made an examination of these.
We found in all three cases that either one or the other of the main poles was not secure with the magnetic core, the securing nut being of a coarse thread and having worked loose.
We also found two instances of the small nuts on the bolts securing the small spring blades on the armature to be insecure
As we are anxious to have one of these cut-outs right to put on chassis 2 EX, in place of the one removed for 6 EX , we are retaining two of these cut-outs and having these made right in our own Expl. Shop until they satisfy our specification, the other five we are returning as explained.
It would appear that finer threads or spring
