A pair of experimental front springs made by Cocker, Sheffield, were used during the above test.

This frame has lasted longer than the previous ones tested of this type, the previous ones lasting 210 minutes and 120 minutes respectively. These two frames were not heat treated and I think the longer life of the frame just tested is due to the heat treatment and not to the swivelling cross member.
