At present the radiator is able to pull the dashboard about, and pinch the bonnet. If there is any objection on the grounds of vibrations reaching the steering column via the cast dash this can easily be overcome by introducing an insulating sleeve around the column.

(8) REVISED STEERINGS GIVING INCREASED BODY SPACE.

We agree that we should attempt to standardise these as soon as possible, and if you will let us know when you are prepared to issue the sheet we will take the matter up with Sales.

(11a) BATTERY IN THE FRAME.

We have sent designs for battery in the frame to Derby a few days ago. From the coachbuilders point of view we are very interested in this as it will improve the riding of the car generally, workmanship on the electrical system, and a better appearance, besides facilitating the lubrication of the chassis.

INDIA.

(12) CROSS MEMBERS.

We will take up with R.{Sir Henry Royce} the question of increased dia. cross members. We think now he may prefer to obtain torsional rigidity by means of a cross in the central bay.

(15) SCUTTLE ISOLATION.

While we have standardised scuttle isolation on the Phantom we have not done so on the 20HP. because we have been waiting for the standardisation of the shortened 'D' column not supported from the instrument board bracket. As this is now standard we will attempt the standardisation of complete scuttle isolation.

(16) DIPPING HEADLAMPS.

We would be glad if Derby would send us any layouts they have shewing these lamps fitted to the 20HP. as our schemes are possibly out of date.

(19) SUBFRAME TYPE SIDE LEVERS.

We note that the brake lever may be considered flabby sideways. It should however be an easy matter to increase the rigidity in this direction and we will go into the matter.
