X. 5430 To BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} c. to BJ. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}2/M26.6.26. INDIA STEERING COLUMN SUPPORTS. With further reference to BY/CGH{W Clough}2/H17.6.26., we now send herewith N.sch.2219 shewing how we propose the additional stay should be arranged for the stiffer column. On this scheme we suggest that as the cars are new the drilling of the dashboard should be modified to lift up the end of the control tubes. We also send N.sch.2220 shewing the steering column clip on the 40/50. machined out of the same forging as the India clip, though the angle of the taper spigot is slightly different.
