Programme Meeting No: 17. Page 3. CONDOR. 1. Gear Box Housing, G.6668, and Sunwheel Anchor Ring, G.6276. The Production Dept. pointed out that Eccentricity Markings had been omitted from the drawings. It was agreed that these markings should be added. 2. Magneto Bracket. E.17528/9. The Production Dept. proposed that the Dowel Holes for the Magneto should be altered from .375 + 1 to .362 + 2, this increase being necessary on account of the variation in the dowel holes centres in the Magneto. The Works requests that split Taper Pin K.{Mr Kilner} 4714 should be altered to solid pin E.4813, as the former are not in stock, and as there is no need for a split taper pin. It was agreed that the increased clearance in dowel holes should be adopted to suit the standard magneto mounting brackets as efforts have been made to tighten up the limits on the magnetos without success. It was also agreed that an ordinary standard taper pin should be used in lieu of the split taper pin. 3. Crankshaft Extension Piece. G.6356 & G.6323. The Experimental Dept. require these parts shortened .200 which should be taken off the end which fits into the Crankshaft. This .200 will require taking off several other dimensions. This was agreed. The alteration is consequent upon the recent modifications to the Crankshaft and applies therefore to the parts used with the new Crankshaft only. 4. Pilot Jet. E.18504. The Production Dept. requested that the diameter of the Restricted Passage should be increased from .0315 to .040, and also that the outside diameter of the "gauged" portion should be given on this drawing, and a note added to the effect that the restricted Passage should be reamed out by the Test Dept. to give a flow of 210 cubic centimetres per minute. It was agreed that the restricted passage should be drilled in the shops .040, and that the Test Dept should ream to the size required to give flow specified. 5. Oil Relief Valve Casing. E.15755. The Production Dept. agreed that this part should be drilled .325 through one side and tap .312 diameter at the other side to receive a connection for Oil Gauge. This alteration was agreed, to suit the requirements of Test Dept. and when in use 6. Crankshaft Extension Piece. E.15820. The Production Dept. requested that the dimensions should be altered as indicated on blueprint. This is required on account. Contd. | ||
