XC4117 V/S c. Mr. c. Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} c. MX{John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer} c. GWB. c. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}16/H2 2.25. re. Chassis 68-AU. With further reference to my memo EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}4/H31 1.25. and confirming telephone conversation with you today - we regret to report that in spite of working on this car during the week-end, fixing 'improvements' which were successful on 11-TH, that our tests today show that no improvement has been obtained, so far as the drive groan trouble is concerned on 68-AU. In view of the fact, however that our investigations on this matter have made some headway (although as yet nothing very definite) and that we may be on the verge of achieving some successful issue, you agree to our recommendations that the car should still be held back for a few days, as it is possible, although no definite promise can be made, that improvement might be effected, whereas the car in its present stage is no better than it was when it was first returned to the Works. It is possible that we might be able to let you know during the next few days that some improvement has been made. In any case, I will see that some information is given to you about this car during this week. You can rest assured that the Works are undertaking the work on this car night and day if necessary in order to make some improvement. EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} | ||
