Continuation No. 2. spring of the bellows, and partly because of the increase in the volume of the gas; according to the sort of spirit used there will be a difference of 3 to 4 degrees at each end of the stroke. We, therefore, read your drawing as follows, (as it applies to E.80893 instruments):- "The Smithermet stem should start to move when a temperature of 74/76 degrees centigrade is reached, and should sustain a load of 25 1/2 / 29 1/2 lbs at 90 degrees centigrade just before resting on the inner stop."
