-2- New die cast main bearings in A.C.6. New big end bearings in A.C.6. High pressure scraper rings. Before running remove the special relief valve spring Ex.20773 and refit a standard spring EB.2135. Unit to have usual running in and then 1 hour full throttle and 1 hour 1/4 load endurance at an oil inlet temperature of 100°C. and on Ethyl fuel. Check oil pressures at inlet temperatures of 100°, 110°, 120° and 130°C. at 4000 R.P.M., also speeds and pressures as follows:- (a) Oil issuing from pump relief valve. (b) Oil feed to timing gears. (c) Oil at the rocker feed. Observe valve spring surge and bounce, springs being as follows:- 1 - 4 Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}260. 5 - 8 EB.175 9 -12 EB.3256X. Whilst running the endurance, check the oil consumption. Unit to be then returned for inspection with list of complaints. General 1. Report on B.17 running. 2. Curve to go with Wraith 2 report. 3.
