With further reference to your letter of the 5th inst. and the six "calorstats" mentioned, we found upon testing the units that the performance varied to the extent of about 4 degrees most of them opening too late in terms of temperature, in one of the units the filling tube was broken off thus rendering the calorstat inoperative. We have reconditioned and refilled these six and they are being returned to you. For your information our Warehouse and Service stock is being examined and will, where necessary, be made to conform to the standard established, i.e. they must show a travel without load of .425" at 74 to 76 degrees centigrade. Instruments that conform to this also conform to the load specification. Yours faithfully, for S. SMITH & SONS (MOTOR ACCESSORIES) LTD. T. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} Sffall ENGINEER. To avoid delay all envelopes should be addressed to the firm. | ||
