For Mr Royce's information C.J. 10/2/10 [STAMP: RECEIVED 10 FEB] 5th February 1910. R2/D5210. /1134 Re Monte Carlo Car. (Splashers). The Monte Carlo Car has splashers very much overhanging the wheels and seems to take up a lot of room in traffic. This may be necessary to prevent mud throwing, but I don't think so, and it undoubtedly increases the windage very considerably. The wind screen is not very satisfactory, being too far from the driver. [Handwritten section] Mr Johnson. [Signature: O H Pryce] We have at B measured several cars, and in the order of manufacture following are dimensions of wings from outside edge to outside edge;- 539 68 1/2" 578 69" 798 68" 1106 67 1/2" (Silver Phantom). 1134 68" (Monte Carlo). 1136 67 1/2" [Handwritten notes to the side] H.O. 9-2-10. 1152 & 1170 Two owners have recently told us their cars get very dirty with the mud from the front wheels. I am afraid it really is necessary to keep to the width of say 1106 wings. 2. The original screen for 1134 is at B. Upper glass in vertical position is 13 1/2" from dash. Present screen is temporary H.O. [Left margin] X393 2 | ||
