48-MS - London Continental Trials.

Referring to my conversation with Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} yesterday at Derby when I explained that the exhaust booms on this car at all speeds were far too bad to justify the car's use for trials work, I have arranged to send the car to Derby on Monday next, in order that the Experimental Department may have an opportunity of deciding what modification to make to the exhaust system in order to improve the present trouble. Although we shall not be using this car for our work for more than another month, we could not agree to sell it to an owner with the booming trouble as it exists. The car must be back in our hands again please by the following Saturday.

I understand from Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} that the cost of the likely modifications to the exhaust, will not amount to more than £10.
