X.4054. In view of the difficulty experienced in tearing the condenser mica, in passing the cover over the long studs at present holding it to the governor case, we suggest that the studs and nuts should be modified in accordance with "H" sch.746 of which we send you two blue prints herewith. It will be seen that the modification consists in shortening the long stud, and modifying the present nut by adding a stem passing beyond the condenser casing, and held in position by a collar. This removes any necessity to pass the studs past the condenser. We have also shewn on this drawing the suggested modification to the earth terminal plate, to make a positive connection between this plate and the flexible connection to frame. We should be much obliged if an experimental set could be made from these suggestions, for trial. Da. {Bernard Day - Chassis Design} | ||
