M.51.MG W. A.{Mr Adams} Robotham, Esq., Rolls-Royce Ltd., DERBY. 1204. Dear Mr. Robotham, As a matter of policy THE MOTOR will, in the course of the next few weeks and thereafter, be making a strong feature of the need for a national team of British racing cars. I shall be writing an article in the November 8 issue stressing the very real need for this, not only from the viewpoint of trade but for the enhancement of national prestige in the authoritarian countries, the importance of which cannot, I think, be over-rated. It is my firm belief that we have the engineering resources and technical skill in this country to produce the cars if the finance and organization could be developed. I should like to publish your views regarding the former question. Do you agree that from an engineering standpoint we could build faster and better cars, and have you any specific technical suggestion as to a feature that should be incorporated in their design which is not now present practice? I shall be very grateful if you will let us have your views on this matter. Sincerely yours, Laurence Pomeroy TECHNICAL EDITOR. | ||
