Messrs.Rolls-Royce Ltd., DERBY. Dear Sirs, We thank you for your letter of the 1st instant, regarding Silentblocs E.1241. The reason there is an asterisk against this particular size is that the rubber is more highly stretched than in the standard 1000 series, and consequently the torque required to move it through a given angle is greater. Actually the torque for this particular Silentbloc for a movement of 30° is 60-ft-lbs. and the deflection under a 950-lb. load is .011". Before stating definitely whether this size would be suitable, we should require to know the number of oscillations per minute.
