MINCHIN WILLIAM PETO C.R.D. PRITCHETT T.W. PRITCHETT YOUR REF. OUR REF M {Mr Moon / Mr Moore} /5. 7th July 1928. Messrs. Rolls Royce Ltd., DERBY. For the attention of Mr. Fowler Clark. Dear Sirs, We have your letter of the 5th inst. re test batteries which is very interesting and we are taking up the matter with our Works and you will hear further from us. It would seem that if we could give greater clearance at the top of the plates as you suggest we should obtain very good life and in view of your report as to the condition of the plates apart from this point; your proposals are very helpful. As a matter of fact, when this battery was designed we tried to get as much capacity as possible and the height may have been cut down a little bit but we will go into the matter again and report to you. X87836 With regard to the vent plugs, we took this up ourselves some time ago as soon as you reported it and put it right but in the interval probably there were some cells in which the trouble occurred but that you will find to be quite all right now. Yours faithfully, PETO & RADFORD. G.R.N. Minchin. | ||
