3. B. IV.

The following new parts have been fitted, modifications carried out, and work done :-

1) New Element received from Works fitted in Tecalemit filter. Sump drained and refilled with fresh Castrol XL. Suction filter cleaned.

2) Brake shaft lubrication and examination of rear brakes. (see seperate memo).

3) Spring loaded plunger under handbrake ratchet pawl freed where sticking and preventing ratchet working. This occurs frequently in service.

4) Oil filler cap holder loose on rivets. Refitted and face turned up to stop oil leaks. This is the 30.HP. type filler, and the trouble is well known.

5) Petrol pump fuses deleted as instructed.

6) Oil pressure relief valve spring stretched to increase pressure.

7) N.S.F. stone-guard (gauze type) under wing, damaged, beyond repair, removed.

8) Plugs checked .028" .028" .025" .027" .031" all re-set at .020". Original setting not known.

9) Ignition points checked .020"

10) General attention to oil levels and adjustments.
