Rear Brakes. The 4-ZS.2 and 4-ZT.2 bijur feeds to the rear brake shafts have been replaced by 4-ZS.I and 4-ZT.I feeds as instructed. The drums were removed. Oil had leaked from the brake shafts, a fair amount to the O.S. and a little to the N.S. The brakes were rather dirty. They have been cleaned up so future developments can be observed. There was a lot of water on the liners and in the drums which had probably entered when the car was washed before the work began. The surface of the drums had corroded a light greeny brown where the water had been. Very bad groans were experienced at all speeds from the rear drums on the way from Paris. The surface of the drums was marked by black patches varying in size from 3/4" to I.I/2" dia. at intervals round the drum on the area covered by the foot brake liners. They could not be scraped off. --------- Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/GWH{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux}/IMW.{Ivan M. Waller - Head of Chateauroux} Franklin. Waller. | ||
