Re Stromberg Carburetters & Flooding. Replying to Cx.{Major Len W. Cox - Advertising Manager}6/KW.17.12.35, there is really no merit in a downdraught carburetter as such, except that it can easily be accommodated under the bonnet. When we came to the big bore 20/25 we could no longer take our mixture through the block. This meant that the carburetter had to be on the same side as the induction pipe, and we could not get good distribution without running into the bonnet side. We were therefore forced to the downdraught arrangement, if we were to use anything like the existing engine arrangement. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
