Assistant Chief Mechanical Engineer,
For Carriage & Waggons Office.
L.M.&S. Railway Co.
Derby.

For the attention of Mr.Purves.

Dear Sirs,

We thank you for the courtesy and attention extended to us on occasion of our visit to your works yesterday afternoon 12th inst, when the merits of the new dynamo controller were explained by your assitant Mr.Tailby.

We found the controller extremenly interesting but obviously it is impossible to fully grasp the fairly complicated operation of this unit without spending a lot of time studying the diagram etc.
We should be much obliged therefore, if you would send us a diagram of the connections and a description of the working of this unit.

Yours faithfully,

FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED.
