Derby.

Dear Sir,

Thank you for your letter of July 11th.

It is always difficult to place anybody in these works who has no previous experience of engineering on either the practical or theoretical side. If you are willing to accept an unskilled job there is a chance that at some later date we may have a vacancy. The work however is not very congenial and the wages are only about 30/- a week.

Perhaps you would let me know whether you would ever consider this and if so, let me have your age.

Yours faithfully,

FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED.
