Re. EXIDE BATTERIES.

We attach hereto copy of memo we have received from Paris together with translation of the report they refer to.

We shall be glad if you will give this your consideration and upon which we should like your comments, in order to write Paris.

From this it will be seen, as we pointed out to Mr. McKinnon of the Exide Company when he was here, our depots have had and are having very considerable trouble with the Exide batteries. Mr. McKinnon did not seem to be under the impression that the failures we had experienced with the Exide batteries were very numerous, and you may think it advisable to send the Exide Co. a copy of the attached report, or at least an extract of same.

It is very evident that something really helpful will have to be done in regard to dealing with Exide batteries on cars out of the United Kingdom.

We think you will agree that Paris report attached implies a much more serious position than even we had anticipated.
